The Critical Global Studies Institute is dedicated to fostering transnational
humanities beyond national, regional, disciplinary, and institutional boundaries.
The "Mnemonic Solidarity: Colonialism, War, and Genocide" project seeks
to challenge the western-centrism of existing memory studies
and deterritorialize the memory discourse surrounding
colonialism, war, and genocide since World War Ⅱ,
creating a global memory entity toward solidarity and
mutual understanding.
Established as a community outreach branch of the HK+ "Mnemonic Solidarity:
Colonialism, War, and Genocide" project, the Local Humanities Center aims
to develop and spread sustainable local humanities
programs based on the study of vernacular memory,
toward the goal of democratizing knowledge.
